  • Tap

    Tap

Tap is a dance characterized by using tap shoes as a percussive instrument. Broadway tap focuses more on the dance. It is widely performed as a part of musical theater. Rhythm (jazz) tap focuses more on musicality. Tap and combination classes will focus on both styles of tap.

  • Clogging/Power Tap

    Clogging/Power Tap

Clogging is often considered the first form of street dance because it evolved in urban environments during the industrial revolution. In later periods it was not always called "clogging", being known variously as flatfooting, foot-stomping, buck dancing, clog dancing, or jigging. What all these had in common was emphasizing the downbeat of the music by enthusiastic footwork. One of the hottest things in dance right now, clogging combines all the sounds and rhythm of tap with added power and a style all its own.

  • Tumbling/Cheer

    Tumbling/Cheer

What a fun and easy way to learn coordination, balance and determination. Focus will be on flexibility, strength, confidence, endurance, and basic tumbling moves. Cheerleading is a sport that uses organized routines made from elements of some tumbling, dance, jumps, and stunting to direct the event's spectators to cheer on sports teams at games and matches and /or compete at cheerleading competitions. This class is a great prep class for anyone who is interested in trying out for cheer in Junior High and High School.

Characteristics of the sport include handling the baton to create visual images, and patterns executed with dexterity both close in and the release of the baton into the air. Baton twirling requires skillful coordination and extraordinary control of the body.

    "Sensations" - Junior Tap/Jazz/Ballet Team

These dancers are chosen by the instructor or will audition for the team and then be required to spend extra time in the studio working on technique and production in the team's specific style of dance.
